About

Everyone is obsessed with something. For Wendy Barbas its fused glass art.
"I’ve always been a collector of glass art. During my travels I would find local galleries to browse, it’s truly incredible what artist can do with glass. The saturation of color is what drew me to the glass medium. I find the manipulation of color and light within the glass to be both therapeutic and inspiring."
"While in Sedona Arizona I visited a gallery that featured a glass artist.  The artist happened to have been hosting the gallery that day and while chatting with her with regards to her art she told me about a teaching studio local to my home. Unbeknownst to me, this was the beginning of what I now call my addiction.”

“My mother was a great influence on my life and art. She was an abstract artist who worked in both acrylic and oil paints on canvas. I would watch her blend the colors and apply them to the canvas a layer at a time, manipulating the light and shadow to create beautiful works of art."

"Personally, I lean more towards design as opposed to scenic or still life compositions. I see design everywhere, from the soft patterns in fabric to the bold  geometric angles of buildings to the delicate lines of leafs. Their design captivates my imagination and reflects in my work. As a result I describe my work as contemporary glass art design that is both functional and stimulating.”
